The waiter was nice to me from the moment I spotted this place waking by. Looked what I wanted ,old fashioned, bit honky tonky inside cosy pub feel.
I can say though as a visitor to the country I didn't feel so welcomed but of course as I do I chatted with a couple of people.
But this is not a place at all for visitors to come in and find friends. I would leave that to an Irish pub.
When asked for a bit less head on my beer that fell below the line of the glass anyway I was refused and it was still over €5 for that a half pint. Got a full pint of German beer after for €6 so evidently I chose the 'sippy' one.
Please sir (owner) if you are reading this...I urge you to make sure some r honky tonk music, old fashioned Dutch music or some soft rock/blues is played here instead of pop music. Even though I'm not coming back for a while, the locals may not care about the music and the owner isn't super friendly. I would come again for one of the events.
I will remember this place but I was left only comfortable with my one visit.
Thank you to the happy young bartender. Happy guy good guy and let me eat the Kurry frittes
Good,old-fashioned Dutch pub.Not too expensive.
Cafe 't Haantje might be a bit old fashioned, but still has its charm. Ideal for watching football games when enjoying some of the special beers.
Probably bad luck, but all advertised beers on the blackboard outside were (almost) sold out. And you'd better like soccer if you go in.
A nice cosy bar with a rich beer card. Has a pooltable
Always nice to catch up with old colleagues twice a year. We just come to chat and have a beer.
If I have to tell you how 't Haantje is, you probably won't appreciate it.
Nice brown café. I was there for a party in the back room. Great atmosphere there too and fast, friendly service.
My favourite hangout
Always old-fashioned conviviality in a traditional brown pub. There is often something to do, sometimes live music, but also a children's carnival, for example.
